The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I love the curiosity and innocence of the Little Prince, which continue to propel him forward. Hold this thought and keep reading - we’re going to revisit it again shortly! 😊

Build a Habit - ?

This past year, I was lucky enough to sit down and have a lot of open, honest, and pretty vulnerable discussions - both 1:1’s and in small group settings. During these discussions, we talked about professional development and the current state of the workforce.

What was the most pronounced theme when we dove into the workforce conversation? - ā€œI’m afraid to ask questions at work.ā€

This was even more pronounced in the amazingness that is Generation Z & Generation Alpha.

We can do this!

āļø If you have ever not asked a question but wanted to.

āļø If you are a people manager who wants an even more collaborative environment.

The positive stats below will inspire you!

Getting back to the opening comment by our good friend Antoine de Saint-Exupery, it turns out, according to the Harvard Business Review, many adults with children estimate that about 70-80% of their children’s dialogues were made up of questions. Among the adults, the estimate was 15-25%.

Let’s channel our childhood and bring those numbers up!

šŸš€ Career Boost

Let’s talk about organization. Did you know that getting organized significantly reduces stress and improves your overall mood?

Want a really easy way to level up your organization game? Try the Eisenhower Matrix!

The Eisenhower Matrix is a productivity, prioritization, and time-management tool designed to help you prioritize a list of tasks by categorizing them according to their urgency and importance.

Urgent tasks require your immediate attention, and likely have clear consequences if not completed within a specific timeline. These are the tasks that, if avoided or delayed for a significant period of time, can lead to higher levels of stress and burnout. Examples of urgent tasks include finishing a project or assignment with a fast-approaching deadline, studying for an upcoming exam, or emergencies at home or work.

Important tasks do not require your immediate attention, but should be completed because they help you achieve your long-term goals. These are the tasks that still matter despite not being due right away, and take careful planning so that you can use your time and resources efficiently. Examples of important tasks include planning for a long-term project or assignment, reviewing lecture notes, exercising, and attending professional development opportunities.
