Offloading can lead to improved performance on ongoing tasks with high cognitive demand, such as tasks where multiple pieces of information must be simultaneously maintained. Do you like Game of Thrones? Like really like it? Enough to watch not simply 1 episode, or 1 season, but the entire run - all 73 episodes in one day?

This feat would represent 74 gigs of digital information and while it is impossible to watch the entire show in a day - we are actually processing 74 gigabytes of digital data each day! This comes to us in the form of - staring at online articles such as this one (sorry!), using our phones, looking at email, watching TV, streaming content, leveraging the latest smart watches, the list goes on and on.

It’s a lot. Do yourself a favor and try a digital detox for at least an hour a week. Perhaps going someplace that looks like this -
